EA_Aljo Would love a response to this. Is there a reason that limits y’all’s ability to use NHL Edge data?
Also, is the speed gap between fastest and slowest NHL player meant to be this way? I’ve noticed that boosting attribute effects to 10/10 and player/cpu speed to 50 actually produces more realistic top speeds for fast players as well as a larger actual speed gap from 80-96. That got me thinking maybe you guys had it right initially but lost it in the slider construction.
Look at online competitive play as something that isn't looking to be a complete sim experience. But neither is the offline modes but they allow you the sliders to make the game more of a simulation to your liking. I'd also say the reason attributes of some players have less speed than probably what they should is so they fit the overalls they are wanted to be given. But I'll be sure to pass along your feedback to the right people since Aljo isn't around atm.

I agree with you that NHL is a competitive game. And if full simulation is introduced for everyone, some players will not be happy. Actually, even now we hear complaints - just from the other side. So, it seems devs can’t make everyone happy, right? 😅

KlariskraysNHL Thanks for the reply! I didn’t think of the pesky overall problem. I can see why y'all would be hesitant to change it if you feel like people would get upset that some guy's overalls don't appear to have an edge.
It's frustrating because in the games current state, a guy like McDavid appears to be a god with such a wide speed overall gap, but that isn't reflected in the game's gameplay because the actual speed gap between 80-96 isn't accurately differentiating fast and slow players. Granted, in McDavid's case, he at least has Wheels.
Whereas... my proposal would potentially increase a lot of players overalls 1-2 points which would make it appear that McDavid has less of an edge, but in reality, he would get an accurate and more advantageous speed gap against slow players which should obviously be the goal. I can see how that could be tough to communicate with the fan base, but I do think it's worth it since people will feel the difference in gameplay. At the end of the day gameplay should take precedence.
I do really appreciate the reply though. Hope you, EA_Aljo, and the rest of the team have a great launch next month.
