Hi guys,
I actually didn't want to write anything else here on NHL, but I like this thread about speed. Okay, up until NHL20, I was always in Division 2 or 3 on HUT Rivals, which was fine for me, since I'm not a professional player. Then NHL21 came out, and that's when the problem really started. Gamers with a low overall rating were driving their players much faster than my high-rated players. So you were losing games, not because you couldn't play, but because the others were always so fast. So you played 10 games and maybe won 1. Then I specifically called in a technician to set up my router correctly for gaming, and it still didn't help. So from that day on, I only played Team Battles, and you won 90% of the time on "Superstar." It was exactly the same with NHL22, so I only played Team Battles again. Then I switched from Xbox to PS5 for a different game, and played NHL22 there, but only Team Battles there too. Then I bought NHL23, and nothing was better there either, so I deleted the game from the PS5 out of frustration. That was it for me with NHL.
Then a few weeks ago, my son was visiting, and he plays too, but only on PS4. He saw that you could download NHL25, so he downloaded it, and immediately opened HUT, built a roster, and played Rivals twice, and lost twice straight away. Okay, I thought, he doesn't have a good roster. So, because the passion is still there, I put in a bit of money and built a good team. And then I realized that this wasn't any different than with the previous games. I made a special tally and wrote down how many Rivals I played or abandoned. So I thought, get another technician; maybe the updates had changed something, but he said, no, it's perfectly fine. Then I told him to take a look, so I didn't care about paying the technician. He watched and was completely astonished that my players were so slow and the others were much faster. His opinion was that the game's synchronization was probably wrong.
Then I built a second team, which I play Rivals with occasionally, and I use the first one for Team Battles, because having a 15% chance of winning a game in Rivals isn't good for me.
So I'll stick with Need for Speed Unbound; at least I'm good there and win races 90% of the time. Okay, that's it from me, and keep having fun playing.
Regards, Judyracing
