Also need to return the search by region - Relax and Strict.

Yeah, it's super annoying, half the match-ups are disbanded in the pregame lobby because 2s don't want to play against 3s (which is fair given the computer's inability to rub two brain cells together). I don't understand how they haven't added it back in yet, absolutely ridiculous.

They’ve already hinted at in one of these topics that the reason this isn’t in the game is because of the decreasing player base size that would cause the wait times to find games be even longer than they are. So instead of fixing all the broken things driving people away from the game, their solution is to remove those filters entirely. 

This is a lot of assuming. I've said many times now that the changes to matchmaking were done with the intent to improve this functionality and get everyone in games quicker.  It has nothing to do with the size of the playerbase either. 

When you give no information you leave it up to speculation. If the team cared they would just give you an answer about WHY it was removed. We cant get that so we can only assume the worst.

The answer given makes absolutely no sense given the long wait times this year.

Unfortunately, that's the best I can tell you. The changes that were made were supposed to improve matchmaking. You can see a statement from the dev team here that I posted a few days ago.
