Midwest Server Issues?

I’m having such an issue with ping right now and matchmaking. (Takes a lot longer to find a game this past week) Feel like I’m losing my mind.

Played all year on 22-28 ms(with my ping limit set at 30ms) and now I can’t find a game less than 40ms(with the same setting for searching) changed nothing , wired fiber internet (google fiber , Omaha NE)

My speed test on my computer is 1ms 925 down and 930up - my Xbox is hard wired, I reset my console, re downloaded the game, reset my internet, and even changed cables.

I reached out on Reddit and found another Midwest player with the same issues.

i was wondering if something happened this past week to the satellite servers in (Denver, Minneapolis,Chicago)

thanks,,

Just annoyed can’t play the game competitively on 40+ ms…

anyone else having issues in the Midwest?

I’m gonna reach back out to them tomorrow (working today) , however when I did last week they walked me through resetting my network, I did that and I am getting 1ms 950+ down 950upload on my computer(hardwired) and for my Xbox (hardwired also) about 500 up and down, with 68ms response when I run the speed test. I know the series X doesn’t handle gb speeds. They say latency of 150 or less is fine. (Seems crazy high to me and I usually am 50 or so)

Sounds good. It would also be good to ask them if the extreme weather in the midwest is causing any issues.

Here is the response from a google technician… seems like it is an AWS issue.

What he found was almost the exact ms response time I was getting prior to this issue.

It sounds like we may just have to wait for Amazon to resolve this. In the meantime, we'll continue to monitor for other reports.

Is there any thought to bringing a server for the middle mkdwest? Like Kansas City, Chicago, Minneapolis or Denver? The game unfortunately is basically unplayable right now going into the best event of the year with how this issue is going 🫤. If you hear of anyone else having issues let me know. Thanks!

I don't have any news on a new server. That has pros and cons. The pros are that you'd have a better connection. The cons are that it would shrink the available players since you'd only have access to the same players on your server. Regardless, your ping was fine previously so an additional server isn't needed. Unfortunately, it's not on our end so there isn't really anything we can do.

Personally, I play on an average of 50 - 60 ms with no issues. You should be fine on 40. The game is not unplayable on that ping.
