where to begin. I’ve played the game back to 1992. It was better back then.
Nice to see another veteran of hockey video games. Been playing them myself since far too long ago that I'd like to admit, but it's well before 92. Regardless, what did you like better about the game back then compared to now?
The players are terrible to control. Not fun at all. So many bugs. Trying to change strategies and lines are beyond frustrating with the endless and needless cut scenes between whistles. The time it takes to drop a puck, just watching as the ref stands there for 8 seconds. The actual gameplay sucks and feels mechanical as stated. The lack of depth in franchise mode. Lack of arena specific music and ambiance and again the in game controls and bugs are awful. The improved AI? Where? Go back and play an old EA game. See how fun it was.
Can you elaborate on this? What makes players terrible to control? What bugs are you finding? How is changing strategies and lines frustrating? What don't you like about the gameplay? What is mechanical about it? What would make Franchise Mode deeper?
Music and ambience often come down to licensing issues. It would be great to have every song and every nuance of an arena, but without the rights to those, we can't have them. For example, we need licensing from the artists that perform/write the songs.
What are the AI issues you're seeing? If you have video, that would greatly help as the AI players are reacting to how the humans are playing and the strategies being set for them.
I am guessing the engine by which you run your sports games are not meant for sports as all of ea sports games including Madden, Fifa and Chel are a skeleton of their former self. All have fallen off a cliff. You guys are just worried about micro transactions and the actual gameplay has suffered for years now and this year its the worst it’s been.
It would be great to get specific examples. Blanket statements that games from before Ultimate Team came around were better aren't something we can really act on. If all we cared about were microtransactions, there wouldn't be any modes you couldn't spend money in.

The Game is Awful has been for years. Basically since 2014.
Hitting Controls are awful need to be put back to what they were up until 2023.
Changing strategies Online is annoying Should be able to save presets
Pressure system seems like a good idea but it has to work. Until you can figure out how to make it work remove it.
Online Menus are so Laggy and Slow. So much clutter. Remove Hockey Bags completely. Make a team store so we can get the logos/jeseys for our custom teams faster .
Allow us to put or winger at the top of the circle again on offensive zone faceoffs
The A.i is useless for the 16 straight year.
Goalies will make the Cross crease desperation save but cant stop the forehand back hand ever. Or he lets in the softest goals.
Reverse Hitting is one sided and needs to be fixed or removed. The Player Throwing a reverse hit always wins regardless off attributes. I could go in for a hit with 90 body check and still get reverse hit by a guy with 75 body check.
Prebuilds need to be removed from eashl and ones. If we cant build our guys how we want or use certain attributes then there shouldn't be prebuilds that have extremely high speed/agility plus wheels and elite edges.
Gameplay is awful feels slow and sluggish most the time. But Gameplay is rarely ever addressed but adding things to the game that we never asked for continue to happen. We dont need to play dress up i dont need Halloween Hockey bags. Or Christmas Jerseys . Spend more time making the game play correctly.
Why Would you ever remove. Match Club Size/Goalie?
Why changing hitting.
When are we going to see new customizable Logos or jerseys been the same stuff for years.
Bring Back Custom music for Rinks goal horns and all
3v3 should have power plays instead of penalty shots again.
Just remake any of the NHL games Between NHL09-NHL14. Cause anything beyond 14 has been pretty awful. Ive gone from 1000games a season to less than 100. Because of How this game has gone downhill.
The Game isnt Fun anymore. You guys have basically ruined the NHL franchise as Much as I hate to say that its true.
Definitely agree with the checking. Its terrible. The shoulder check they implemented has taken away all other aspects of checking. Time to revert EA

What would you change about the hitting? Do you want it to go back to the more arcade style it was before?
Can you give me more details on how it's sluggish? That could be connection related.Im not big on hitting but what we have now is more cartoonish and arcadey

Can you give some actual details besides having trouble hitting and microtransactions on what your issues are? Feedback gets in front of the devs when it's constructive and detailed. Video always helps to highlight your issues as well.
there is so much wrong with the game and it’s getting worse that realistically (and based on the mods responses which is a reflection of the internal brass as a whole i’m sure) this game has no hope of being playable for 5+ years.
How does a game with 'so much wrong' manage to have thousands of active players every single day?
The focus as we know is stuffing as much useless crap into the game and upselling the micro transactions.
Then don't buy anything? And ignore the things you personally deem 'useless'? Just because the game doesn't satisfy your specific needs doesn't mean it's bad. EA isn't forcing you to buy anything.
The core game is laughable now. Lets be straight
The core game is the best it's ever been. Some people struggle with upping their own skill-level to match the roster they bought in HUt with a credit card. It's a common issue that causes a lot of rage.
