Why is there such a big push on the offensive side dominating this game, the forwards in this game are allowed to hip check all over the ice with no calls. This game needs to be balanced so the defense can have a chance to do something. for the goalies, they probably have the highest percentage of goals against in the history of video games.
That's one of the frustrating things this year, you box them out perfectly and they shoot from an off angle shot that bounces off the goalies blocker and in orrrrr the goalie fumbles the puck and spins around to put it in the net. It happens so much in HUT, it's ridiculous how many games are not won by skill but by chance. It's a gamble even when you are dominating the game. Why do we have worry about an off angle shot from outside the circle.
Agree about everything said, as someone who primarily plays defense. I do feel like this game caters to only scoring and nothing else, not even assists. Sometimes it also seems as if the game decides when you’ll be successful on defense or not, no matter what you do. Nothing is more frustrating than when you feel like you take the puck away, only for them to get it right back or it drifts over to a teammate, and they score. Or when you force them to take a bad angle weak shot that goes in anyway.
There wasn't much effort put into the game this year. It's the same thing as NHL 23 where it was a bare minimum effort with zero updates to fix anything to buy the studio more time for next year's NHL. NHL 23 had no update for fast wraps or any glitch goals the whole year and in 25 were on that same pace of no fixes considering it's end of December and there is still a LT skating glitch and one tee spams being the centre focus of every offense.
Goalies save impossible rush 2on1 one timers but a backhand from the Blueline fools them.
Back skating is extremely slow on defense.
Hitting is non existent unless you do hipchecks. And regular hits just don't connect because of the skating LT glitch or an opponent turning to face the boards.
You can't do poke checks because of the LT speed glitch that baits tripping calls.
THE only way to play high level defense is to collapse in front of the goalie and block the shot then collect the rebound.
Last time I played, the META was to use all ur ability points on ur forwards because of how useless defense is this year.
Offline I admit was fun to play this year but online there is no fun in winning this year.
