Why is there such a big push on the offensive side dominating this game, the forwards in this game are allowed to hip check all over the ice with no calls. This game needs to be balanced so the defense can have a chance to do something. for the goalies, they probably have the highest percentage of goals against in the history of video games.
My “favourite “ goals are the ones where you poke it off your opponent (or your opponent pokes it off you) at least 6 foot away and it calmly slides under your goalie’s foot who’s leaning against the post.
or how if you’re back checking on d, and your stick can get caught up in your opponents body but if you check you will trip him, or if you don’t have the puck, you get those neat animations trying to get around someone but on offence you have no problems having your stick morph through opponents when you’re shooting … it happens all the time
don’t get me wrong, this is the best version of this game I’ve played for EASHL …. I wish next year they just focused on goalies and defense.

EA_Aljo these kinds of goals absolutely suck, my man. Goalie takes the puck to the chest, drops to butterfly, puck bobbles around his gear, goalie goes to cover the puck with his glove and just swipes the puck into the net.
This clip and the clip in my previous post are the epitome of why I more look forward to NOT playing this game than playing it.

I'm defending on a 1v1 and have the puck carrier safely positioned off to the side. Goalie has the angle covered. Puck carrier has nothing and decides to do a between the legs deke. The goalie grabs the puck with his glove and then, for absolutely ZERO reason, starts doing a Booker T spinarooni in his crease and ends up throwing the puck into his own net.
I'm at my wits end with this game. It feels so frustrating and unrewarding having to play perfect defense just for offensive players to be given a free goal just for pressing up on the right stick.
These kinds of goals HAVE to go. It's extremely frustrating when you soundly outplay your opponent, but you either lose or narrowly win be cause they got rewarded with garbage goals like this. What incentive is there to learn actual team-based hockey when you can just force a shortside goal via bad animations?
We won this game 6-5, and it still felt like a loss.

Weither they cater about offense more is debatable and they would never admit to it anyways. What's obvious is that they wanted to make the game more organic aka chaotic. Byproduct of that is that only benefit the offense, defense is more about structure and chaos is hard to contain. It's still a better game than what we had before, but they have work to do to balance all that.
Exactly, ea needs to reward defender if they force the foward to take a low percentage bad angle shot, not bail them out.

Defender takes a wrister from the blueline. It's kinda difficult to see, but if you zoom in, the puck appears to hit the blade of the goalie's stick, deflects up and off either the stick shaft or the post, arches across to the opposite post, falls down behind the goalie where the goalie starts swinging wildly and knocks the puck into his own net.
Brother man, what are we DOING here!? Can these poor goalies get a break? I swear, this game feels like we've constantly got Bad Luck Brian in net. It feels like a Final Destination movie where, no matter what you do, some impossibly unlikely series of events will inevitably happen and the puck will find itself in the net.
I get it. Wild things happen in hockey. Pucks take funny bounces at times. But, bruh, does this kind of nonsense have to be constant?
