It's all about defensive positioning and momentum.. if their goalie makes a big save it gives them momentum to skate faster and pass better .. then the one-tee is quite over powered if you time it perfectly... and that's all about getting open on offense or taking up space so your teammates can make plays... it's really a simple game ... the goalies could be a bit better in some situations.. backhand for example.. but if you don't jump to hit and miss or try and poke check constantly.. your goalie will make plays .. also getting in opponents shooting lanes to slow the shots down or block to corners helps goalie and your team...
