That would be nice but I doubt it. The API was never changed. When I remember correctly it went live after 1-3 weeks after launch and replaced the previous version . It uses the exact same structure and code base. Therefore, I highly doubt they will touch anything except adding some player specific heatmap data :D (what we see in replays) that would be nice to add to our stats view.
Adding player specific data means changing their API so they can update the data in their database. Then it would be easy to include it in the JSON data we retreive our stats from. They already have the PIN code when we play a game. It would not be so hard to save it to include it in the JSON data. That would really help determining automatically which game match with which game between 2 teams when games crash and need to be restarted. I'd take that over specific heatmap data...
