Eashl is bad. Totally cheesy and unrealistic

Here is a list of flaws that make this game unrealistic:

  1. absurd massive hits: there are too many big hits and teams are exploiting the overpowered hitting engine.
  2. teams that do massive hits all the time need to take more penalties especially since the hits are to the back or not lined up correctly. Also, the massive hits need to stop when you’re in a better position than the person hitting you (I.e you are a half a stride past)
  3. -make the timing shorter for after you pass the puck. After passing you take 3-4 strides and get destroyed.. then it takes forever to get up.

  4. Teams are still twirling in circles instead of passing. When you poke the puck it barely moves it and then they spam stick lift to get it back. Make it so you get a penalty for stick lift spammers. Make it so you lose stamina and energy when you skate in circles on offense and do a massive amount of unrealistic dekes. People should be losing the puck more. The strategy is just spam hit, Twirl and deke, and force cross crease and spam buttons.

  5. make it so if you post finesse smart positionally sound hockey you get rewarded more. It used to be on defense you could just be 1 on 1 with the offensive player and poke the puck away.. now it seems too often you time it perfectly and the other guy keeps it and gets rewarded even though they made the error to skate into you.
  6. in summary tone down hitting immensely, town down agility and puck control, tone down deking, turn up penalties on bad timed hits, shorten the hit window after a pass, and tone up poke check when in good position.. tone down stick lift and make it a penalty when spammed. Stop punishing good smart players and stop rewarding cheesy spammers/twirlers, trucelence/stick lift abusers.

  7. the game is so unrealistic so please get it back out of arcade mode and back to a more sim level like how nhl 09-14 used to be. We are sick of X factors having such an influence as well

  • Yeah, the hits long after passes is wild. I thought the other team found some way to exploit the game or maybe an xfactor gave them that ability. I'm not sure what the new threshold is but they opened a much bigger window than before.

  • You pretty much nailed it. The hitting is completely out of hand. Huge open ice hits that would happen twice a season in the NHL are happening 10+ times per period in CHEL.  Can still easily beat the teams/players that play like this but it's destroying the gameplay.

  • The only thing I may push back on (i have a small sample size of gameplay) I've personally not seen dekes as a big issue. Maybe with more time I'll see more.

I am almost done with my 10 hours and I'm not sure I can get behind buying this in it's current state.. it's just REALLY bad.

Glad I sat this year out at launch. Debating if it’ll be worth it at a discount now even. Sounds like a trainwreck that probably won’t even be addressed until a Feb/March patch, if that.
