With all due respect you guys have sucked the creativity and diversity out of the builds which in turn has elimited organic goal scoring and zapped the replayability. Do the devs not research how goals are scored in the game of hockey and implement some balance? Gone are tips, deflections, redirects, and uniqie goals with traffic in front (which in real life all add up to over 50% of all goals in the NHL). There are close to zero of of those types of goals now. I've seen 2 tip in goals in 50 games. Insane. There is no reason for a point shot anymore.
Breakaways/in alone on the goalie account for least 80% of the goals in this game. The NHL average rate of goals in alone/on a breakaway is 30%. The game is so backwards. Players twirl in the corner until they can glitch. That was not our experience in 6's in the past. That what 3's bros who couldn't play hockey did. It's just not fun anymore.
Our club is pretty much going to back to 25 if we feel like playing until this mode gets back to something that remotely resembles the actual game. EA literally took Elite Edges and Wheels out of their game in the past because they ruin the mode and make the play style one dimensional. Truc and all these OP boosts have made the mode an arcadey shell of what it was. It's too bad. Real hockey people just want to play something that feels like a hockey game. In 25 you could score and play consistently in all different kinds of ways and styles. Unfortunately 26 EASHL is no where near close to a represention of the real game of hockey in any way. It's lost it's way.

No they're not. It's just that most people are trying to grind out the same old exploits. I've seen every single one of these goals scored by our team. To say they no longer exist just implies you and your team are just trying exploits rather than real hockey goals.
D19Box wrote:Do the devs not research how goals are scored in the game of hockey and implement some balance?
Come on.
D19Box wrote:Breakaways/in alone on the goalie account for least 80% of the goals in this game.
If 80% of the goals scored against you are breakaways, you have a defence problem.
D19Box wrote:Real hockey people just want to play something that feels like a hockey game.
"real hockey people" are able to make real hockey plays and score real hockey goals. I genuinely hate the idea that some players perceive themselves as "real hockey people" whereas everyone else just "doesn't know hockey" because they're scoring forehand backhand goals on you at an 80% rate. The irony is that "real hockey people" should know that defenders need to be aware of possession changes and transitions much faster than before.
The other thing I see : human defenders just standing still at the blue line during zone possession. Dmen should always be moving. Always. If you're moving, you can take a route that ensures you're getting the most out of speed and accel and can actually allow you to keep up with a Wheels user when possession changes and you need to get back.
More often than not, however, I see a human D man rightfully notice the possession change, but because they're standing still, they need to shift their player's entire momentum to get acceleraring and reach top speed. It's this small difference that can change everything for human D.

KidShowtime1867 LOL the guys in our club played NCAA hockey, two were D1, one played pro and they all coach now. They know hockey. They can identify what's a good sim/represention of the game. This year EASHL is the furthest it's ever been from representing hockey. Again... like I stated in the original post, the complaint isn't about "being good" or winning or losing. We don't need a lesson on how to play. We win enough. The complaint is the mode has become one dimensional and not fun. Same builds everywhere. Same goals everywhere to a ridiculous extent (yes, we score them too). It's boring. It's not dynamic, doesn't represent real hockey, so it's not that fun. I don't get how that is so hard to comprehend? Go look on Twitter, reddit, every social under the sun and here. Everyone is saying it. Would love to hear more about your defensive techniques that's very interesting.

whoa whoa relax here buddy. Nobody is attacking your team of experienced hockey players who seemingly spend their days playing videogames now. No need to get all defensive about your hockey knowledge. This is a videogame.

Yep there's issues with poke check and Wheels can seem OP for defenders who allow them to skate in a straight line. But it represents the sport well if you adapt. Remember, this is a videogame.
D19Box wrote:

Then try scoring other kinds of goals! Remember, this is a videogame. You're allowed to try different things than what the META has convinced you only works. With such experienced and professional hockey players on your EASHL team, you should be far more dynamic in your attacks than every other team. Why is your team of professional hockey players not imploring various different strategies to score various different kinds of goals?

No, not everyone is saying it. Your algorithms have figured out that you enjoy and otherwise engage with content that revolves around people who dislike this videogame. And if spending time on Twitter (puke), Reddit and other social media platforms is your thing, then it's no surprise you have the perspective "everyone" hates the game. That's the cruel nature of social media - it makes you think reality is a certain way when really you're just being manipulated for engagement.

A team of professional and elite college level hockey players should know more about defensive techniques than this beer league hero.

You're assuming the defense just lets them skate in a straight line, I've been in plenty of games where both my team and our opponent has had these Elite Edges people skate between 2 or even 3 defenders trying to get a hit, poke or stick lift only to score on a goalie who is out of position because for some reason the AI has a brain fart anytime someone with Wheels/EE or Quick Release gets even remotely close to him. To act like there isn't a problem is insane lol. If I took a video every time I saw it happen, I'd run out of space on my system.

Tips still exist obviously, he’s just being extreme in what he’s saying because tip plays have clearly lost the impact they had last year. My club is div 1 6s, we play hockey hockey not arcade hockey, always a body in front when the puck kicks back up to the point and I can say with certainty that the tips are considerably less effective. Maybe it gets considerably better with the x-factor, we wouldn’t know since you can’t really play the game & expect to beat other diamonds/elites without warrior and truculence, that takes 2/3 x-factor spots right there.
What do you mean “come on”? Have you been playing the same game as us for these past few years? This question: “does EA even watch hockey” or any variation of it, went from an obvious troll to a genuine concern in the last 5-6 years of chel. That’s not a player base problem. Thats an EANHL problem. And unlike you, I’ll actually elaborate: when your AI has the hockey IQ of Helen Keller on skates, when your player chooses to not have his stick on the ice while you cover a passing lane, when player ratings make absolutely 0 sense despite marketing the use of NHL edge data, all of these things (and much more) will make an educated hockey fan/player wonder if this company genuinely watches this sport. Let’s be adults and stop acting like this is an irrational view when looking at the history of EANHL and their products.
As for the breakaway thing, could be a D problem in some situations, but hear me out. I know this might sound crazy to you, but maybe letting loadouts combo 3 skating perks with the ability to have 96+ speed above 6’0 is a bit of a problem. If you want to argue it’s not a problem, you’re actively advocating for a style of hockey that’s arcade like, not authentic. Our lobbies (assuming you’re diamond/elite 6s) are not the standard for how this game operates. Just because our dmen can be on top of the speed cheese doesn’t mean it isn’t a problem. I would say about 80% of goals scored in plat & lower 6s lobbies are rush plays & breakaways, just from the handful of drops games me and my boy have played while waiting for the club to get online. There’s nothing wrong with this claim.
Agree with keeping your feet moving on the blue line, even more effective when forwards are up to date with icon passing since those low to high passes can be wonky with a moving target

As do most teams, yep.

We've had some success with tips and slap-passes seem to have had a change to them as well, making them another option.

You can absolutely keep up with elites without requiring truculence and warrior.

It's ridiculous to assume the development team of a hockey gaming franchise that's over 30 years old doesn't watch hockey. I get it - the game isn't as perfect as you'd like. Please understand that it never will be. In order to satisfy your desire for picture perfect hockey, I suggest playing the real sport.
Expecting EA Sports, a small development team in Burnaby focused on NHL, FIFA and UFC, to be the first game studio in the history of earth to perfectly recreate a sport with 1:1 realism is a lesson in futility - to steal a line from for NHL-series commentator Bill Clement.

Where have I done that? Please don't attack me and put words into my mouth.

Post a single video example of any one of these things happening.

Why are you conjuring up some fake scenario in which I'm arguing that combo speed perks are "not a problem"? Please stop.

No, most teams do not play hockey hockey, again, you are delusional. Most teams are playing breakout hockey, AKA arcade hockey.
“We’ve had some success with tips” yea everyone has. You’re gonna get an odd tip in goal if you’re playing positional hockey and rotating properly in the o-zone. The point still stands, they aren’t nearly as effective as last year.
You must be a drop ins player? Not sure what elites you’re beating without those perks, kinda sounds like you aren’t as good as I thought? A full team of elites with the perk that drains your energy (could be confusing the names on that perk, game isn’t good enough to grind anymore) would smoke a team of elites without the counter perk by 10. It’s one of the worst and most unrealistic perks in chel, and again, if you don’t agree, you are actively advocating for a style of hockey that is arcade inspired, not authentic. How about this, your club plays mine and we’ll use that perk and you guys aren’t allowed to use the counter. Let’s see what that score board looks like at the end of 60, since it’s so easy to beat elites without the counter (warrior I believe) & truc.
No, it’s not ridiculous at all. These people are making video games. Over half of that studio hasn’t tied a pair of skates in their life. These are game developers, not athletes. Get real. No one’s asking for a perfect 1:1 simulation, not even me. Just asking for a game that’s worth its price point, and for some competence to be present during decision making. For example, who thought removing matchmaking settings were a net positive? Now, EASHL’s dedicated clubs play menu simulator more than the actual game looking for a 6 queue to play, but I’m sure you’ll defend that as well. May as well defend the time-wasting bugs that have been in the game for 10 years while you’re here, have at it I’m all ears!
I said “if you want to argue it’s not a problem, (referring to speed builds) then you’re advocating for a game that’s arcade like and not authentic” why crop half the sentence for a cheap point that I’m going to disprove with one short paragraph? No one said that you were, why so defensive?
No, you don’t elaborate, the same way you don’t take the whole sentence you’re responding to but instead crop half of it for a cheap point.
I’ll play like 3 games of be a pro and have 40 examples for you, gonna tag you and Aljo in a post either tonight or tomorrow night, whenever I get time to game
It’s not some fake scenario, you’re making way too many excuses for the functionality of the game, even telling players they’re just not good enough to identify possession change early enough which may be true, but the complete and total disregard for the real problem is actually laughable lol. Are you a mod? Are you employed by EANHL or are you just a corporation defender? I take it you have pictures of Elon all over your room showtime? Keep an eye out for that post, gonna love seeing you try to defend these computers blatant lack of a frontal lobe while on superstar difficulty hahahahaha
