Community ManagerHello. It comes down to licensing. We just don't have the rights to every jersey.
Thats understandable, there are an innumerable amount of them especially with expansions to new markets almost regularly since 2000 and common introductions of retros/classics/alternatives. I guess that changes my question a bit🤔 When it comes to that process, would it be 1 blanket request to the league that returns a list of approved jerseys(which explains omissions for any variety of reasons, cause NHL can do what it wants in that regard)? Or does the team conduct a selection/vetting process prior to submitting its request(s) to the league? I'd understand wholly if the team simply couldn't submit requests for every single jersey, but would be curious as to the selection process if there is one.

I'm not involved in the process for getting jerseys added to the game. I know that we get as many as possible though.
