Hey there. This was removed in NHL 25. It was done as part of other matchmaking changes that were intended to provide faster and better matchups. It should be searching for other clubs of the same size, but expands when a suitable match isn't found. Ping is also considered so if a better ping is found, but the team has more players, that will be a more suitable match since ping is most important.

There has been a lot of community feedback about this over the last year and a half. Hopefully, we'll see it return in the future.
