So in order to move from Line 4 to Line 3

You have to be a 1 PPG players...what a ridiculous requirement if you don't get a point, there is no way anyone can get Form Factor 75. Often an apple is not enough. On an average of playing 6 minutes a game, sometimes being bench 2 consecutive period,  It is such an ridiculous requirement.  I once score 1 goal and 1 assist and I got bench an whole period after...

Not only is it almost impossible unless you play at  lower level of difficulty, you don't get enough energy to keep your players at good energy level and put points in trait. The dip between full energy and exhausted is 10 points. So you go from being a OVR 81 to 71.

Sometimes I have the impression that whoever does QA for EA does it on rookie level so they can go through quickly. No one test this thing at superstar / all starts/ pro level. If I was an 1 PPG player, I would be a superstar playing on the 1st line of any NHL team.

I really hope EA has some tweak for this BoP mode because I would say right now the balance makes this mode unplayable at this moment. There is always no way to move up unless you play on rookie.

  • 100% agree. The only way I could get off the 4th line was to cheese a few games (close game, relaunch) because I kept getting benched for the 2nd and 3rd period, even when I managed to string together a few goals. I had the second most goals on the team and even choosing the 20 minute period option, I'd be lucky to get 4 shifts a game.

It's basically impossible to average a goal per game for that many consecutive games with between 1-4 minutes of ice time per game. I get that you're supposed to earn your ice time, but the success mechanic needs to be relative to the opportunity. My in-game grades barely moved from C -> C+/- ever because I didn't get enough ice time to change the grade in either direction.

Also, maybe it's just my team, but the 4th liners LOVE to play dump and chase (minus the chase). Step over center, shoot the puck around the boards, turn it over, end of shift. So you basically have to use all your energy to rush the zone yourself and then you're constantly exhausted. It kinda kills the fun if you are more concerned about multi-game energy management than you are about scoring.

  • I agree with everything here the form score is bonkers and wrecks an otherwise good game
