Time for PUNCH-TURNS
NHL26 has done a decent job of modernizing the way players shoot the puck with the "quick release" badge that was released this year. That said, there's a HUGE part of the modern skater's game that has not appeared yet: PUNCH-TURNS!
In IRL hockey, punch-turns are a beautiful and smooth way to create space while carrying the puck. You see players like Quinn Hughes and Conor McDavid utilize this technique ALL THE TIME. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to perform this move in NHL26. We have the spin-o-rama, but it's not even close to the same thing. Some might suggest that you can just stop and go the other way, but that's also not the same, AND it currently looks very "twitchy/glitchy" the way it is now.
I'm assuming the devs/many of you guys know what a punch-turn is, but if you don't, please YouTube it. Especially if you're a skater IRL who isn't currently utilizing this mechanic.
