A video would be nice to provide a bit more context.
I'm assuming the player in red is a defender that either dove or went down on one knee in an attempt to block a pass or shot and the puck went through the shaft of their stick? If that' the case, the most likely explanation is that the defender's stick is also phasing through a part of the goalie model ( it looks like a goalie pad in the top right corner ) which disables the stick's ability to interact with the puck. I'm not defending the way the game works here, but that's almost certainly what's happening.

even if it is the goalies pad the point is there should be no "phasing" at all. the puck looks like it is not near the goalie yet so the defenders stick SHOULD have deflected the shot. I posted a video on another thread where the opposing AI player was pinned on the boards but he made a full hard pass BEHIND him to a teammate. his stick went through the boards like they were not there. I cannot do that. my stick either deflects off the boards or I cannot make ANY pass. I even had a video where we were in open ice and the puck passed through my stick like it wasn't there as well. just make the game fair.
