I have to say there is always one Muppet contrarian who will say everything is fine. ALWAYS ONE with the "well you see..." honestly weird. (Metacritic73 on PS5 and 69 on XBOX with user score 3.8, IGN a known shill 6, if this was on steam I'd bet mostly negative, Open critic 72 with a 42% (not good) recommendation). People are speaking out because they love this game (never forget the downfall of NBA LIVE), casuals won't be caught constantly in the EA FORUMS lol they just move on to another game.
Thank you MollysHatchet for your detailed sentiment I think it is almost Unanimous consenting feeling that X-factors are what are breaking the gameplay. I guarantee you if they did a poll on all social media and even on the EA site at the same time what this would be unequivocally hated stance of having X-factors so aggressively override Attributes, probably followed by prebuilds.
Attributes 1st and foremost should be THE ONLY thing impacts player performance. Followed by on stick player skill and ability. for offline cpu simulation it should be Attributes, tendencies, team strategy and make up. X-factors should have never been a thing in ANY EA game (NBA LIVE "traits", Madden, FC, NHL).
as far as the prebuild they can't be replicated by User creations thus making them essentially PAY TO WIN for some. I dare anyone to make the same build in create a player and compare him to your own creation (obviously leave aggression, poise, etc. at 66) of said player type (sniper, enforcer, etc.) show me a video...I'll wait.
The game has systems that overtly reward brain numb offense and makes it that you have to play ALWAYS perfect defense and Goal keeping as FourZeroVI has already pointed out. The puck can be seen usually going back in animation lock to the offensive player. The game needs substantial adjustments but to be honest all is FOR NAUGHT if x-factors aren't either removed OR nerfed to high heaven. Don't tell me there is a cap to the returns of having an x-factor right now, because this in itself is a fallacy when you have 100% on some of the descriptors of effects, with no description of limits. At least in a MOBA (multiplayer-battle arena) which I imply they tried to copy, they specifically tell you parameters of adding certain items in this case x-factors and their true value on said player when added. EA failed at even doing that, so now we all get to guess and at the same time we can also see they are a problem of imbalance.
Thank you again Molly Hatchet for reiterating what most of us feel.
