Why is LT or R2 the worst button ever

Like I swear everytime I’m I try to switch players it will never switch to the guy like tell me why when it’s a 2 on 1 your switching to my guy nowhere near the play, like how hard is it to his switch to the guy that’s actually in the play. And don’t even get me started on this button when I’m on offensive, its like when I pass the puck has a mind of its own or better it won’t make the **bleep** pass until I’ve pressed the button like 4 times. Just wondering if anyone else has these problems
