It just feels like there are so many holes. And it feels like I can do everything right as a goalie and it doesn't matter. I understand the whole realism thing but it is a video game at the end of the day and sometimes you have to manipulate the game to make it fun as well as real. xfactors arent real but here we are. it needs balance. if a goalie moves in the correct direction or puts himself in the best position, he should be rewarded.
On a separate note, the same is with defense. There too much punishment, if the puck is 6" behind your player youre not intercepting it, if youre poke checking or shove checking, the puck will go right through you, etc. Is it real? absolutely, but is it balanced for the game at this stage... probably not. Pass assist and icon passing arent real but again we use them to balance the offensive portion of the game.
I could do this all day with real vs balanced mechanics. My point is, it just feels like it punishes the entire defensive side of the ice way more than it should for where this game is currently.
