World of Chel Matchmaking

I just joined a new club, we’ve played about 80 games so far, less as some froze or kicked us out and gave us a loss. Most of the time the guys in our lobby, a full team of 6, are all between 16,000 ...

i am a firm believer in Iron Sharpens Iron, that playing people better than you will make you better. However, when you lose a lot of games to players who have found exploits, or, they're just That Much Better Than You, it makes you question why you're repeatedly being thrown to the wolves.

I personally think that if they had skill-based matchups, it would take longer to matchup games (they should give us a practice lobby while we wait) and a lot of the higher tier clubs won't like playing each other. but i could be wrong on that last one. maybe they'd enjoy beating each other up vs the scrubs? i dunno.

either way, I hope EA figures out matchmaking. It's def frustrating and causing several on my club to not really want to play anymore.

Agreed, but some of the matchups can be very extreme in the case of silvers vs elites. Which I haven't really experienced much but apparently lots of people are experiencing these types of matchups frequently. At some point these people will get fed up with it and stop playing because they get unfairly matched often and that's completely understandable. I can say from reading the posts about it, woc has definitely lost some players due to this.

Earlier comments in this post had ideas that would address the match timing issues, instead of full skill-based thats 100% strict, it would search for the closest ranked team during matchmaking, does not prohibit for example elites vs bronze but makes that matchup outcome less likely while still preserving matchmaking times.

I hope so too. Its competitive but not fun and honestly I don't get wowed by plays teams like that make, 9/10 goals are just breakaway toe drags or backhands with loadouts that sacrifice everything into speed.

agree with your points. I hope they can improve it. matchmaking hasn't been good, going back to the jump from ps3->ps4 (nhl15 strip down). I had high hopes that crossplay would fix a lot of this, joining the player pools, one would hope that it would increase the chances of playing someone the same skill level as you. I don't envy the devs here. i'm glad i don't have to figure this out!! (but i wish someone would!!)
