HUT crossplay with a friend

Hello,

has anyone actually managed to play a crossplay friendly match in HUT with a friend on another platform? Is this feature really working?

According to EA, crossplay HUT friendlies should be possible and I bought the game mostly because of this feature. However, after trying absolutely everything, it still doesn’t work for us.

We are on Xbox Series S and PS5, crossplay is enabled and we are already EA Friends. We have played EASHL, so EA Connect is clearly working. We also tried inviting from the main menu first, and then going into HUT to invite there but that also does not work.

The problem is that in HUT Play a Friend there is no EA Connect or EA Friends option at all. When trying to invite a friend using the left bumper, only the Xbox friends list appears and there is no way to invite an EA friend from another platform inside HUT.

Please help. Thank you.

    Hello, 

    My friend and I were in a similar situation, he is on XBOX and I am on PS5. There is essentially no information online that shows you how to do this so hopefully I am explaining this right.. 

    When you go to 'Casual' under the drop down menu when selecting Cup Chase, Competitive, etc., then to the right of that you will see a 'Vs CPU' or 'Vs Friend', you are going to hit 'Vs Friend'. 

    From there it will ask you to put in the custom setting for the game, period length, etc.. You and your buddy with have the SAME exact settings, there is also something there for either 'Server Name' or 'Password'. Once again, you and your friend must have the SAME exact server name/password (im at work and not in front of the menu, my apologies). You guys will both send out the request and you will evidently be lead to the search menu, from there you and your buddy will be play each other.
