Sad days, really. I feel all of that. Sadly, the EA Corp only cares about money, so if they're making more under this current fiasco, then the joke is on us. There is no competitive mode anymore. Every game is plagued by programming, for or against you. The pokes don't work because they think we want realism, thus the amalgamation with next gen stats. It's not in a good place atm

This is not accurate at all. Poke checks work. Yes, they could use a boost, but they work. You need to be more accurate. Spamming them makes them less accurate. Using DSS will also help.

There is no competitive mode anymore.

Why don't you think there's a competitive mode? There are ranked matches and HUT Champs. Why do you feel these aren't competitive?

  EA_Aljo I’ll tell you this I grew up playing defense for 8 years, starting at age 4, before switching to forward. I played AAA and would’ve continued onto college if didn’t get hit from behind when I was 16. After that wasn’t supposed to play contact sports but did play into my late 30’s in rec leagues. Of course now I’ve had multiple spine surgeries which is why I’ve been able to play so much. That being said I don’t spam the button and I’m a player since 94 nhl. When you do a sweeping poke check whether you hit the puck fully or not as long as you hit his stick the puck should be lost. This game your stick goes right through theirs. That’s garbage. Plus if you’re lucky maybe 2 out of 5 straight up poke checks actually work. Needs more than a simple boost. Yes well aware it’s a video game but this years is the worst poke checking has been. Not trying nor do I want to argue about it. Just my opinion

  Okay, well poke checks don't work the way they used to and EA implemented new ICEQ2.0 and next gen. That seems to have affected defensive play this year. Perhaps I'm wrong, could easily be. Just my perception.
  As for competitive modes? The games programming takes over most games. The pressure system and fatigue make it very difficult to take serioulsy. The passing is still a problem. It's all good. I gave up during my 11 day HUT hunger strike last year.
