Playing offline with my HUT team

I've been trying that but can't figure it out. I've tried in main menu offline mode using "play now" but couldn't find my HUT team in any league. I tried doing it through the HUT menu, got a second controller recognized but it wouldn't switch over to the other team. My brother's just here for Christmas and is so frustrated that he cancelled his new version of the ps5 and won't order anything made be EA again if it's going to not allow him to play against a HUT team as that's why he ordered the system. His son wants to play on a HUT team that he builds and my brother just wants him to be happy. Mind you he was raging after having a few drinks... lol. 

Anyone able to give me a step by step instruction so that we can do this tonight lol? Sadly we just couldn't figure it out last night. So using my account and my HUT team we just want to have a regular versus game. Just an exhibition game of course as were just playing for fun and I'm certain he would be happy to know how to do it as he's only cancelled this order out of spite.
