NHL 27: Alumni players
EA_Barry EA_Aljo and NHL 27 creators
Here are the new players that EA Sports added to the alumni teams in NHL 27.
John Vanbiebrouck, Kevin Boyle, Thomas Greiss, Andy Green, Derian Hatcher, Doug Wilson, Duncan Keith, Greg Pateryn, Johnny Boychuk, Kevin Bieksa, Scott Stevens, Alexei Yashin, Chandler Stephenson, Colby Armstrong, Dino Ciccarelli, Joonas Donskoi, Keith Jones, and Zach Parise.
The new players include many really good and desired names, such as John Vanbiesbrouck, Derian Hatcher, Duncan Keith, Scott Stevens, Alexei Yashin, and Dino Ciccarelli. I would give NHL 27's new alumni players a rating of 4/5.
Alumni teams were a good addition by EA Sports to the NHL 20 game. The only downsides to alumni teams are the active players found on the teams, such as Mikael Granlund, Jared Spurgeon, and Anton Forsberg. Another big downside is the Vegas Golden Knights' alumni team, which consists mainly of active players. I see that there is still a lot of untapped potential in alumni players that EA Sports has not utilized. Here are a few ideas on how EA Sports could better utilize alumni players.
- Classic teams like in 2K's NBA games.
- Rendez-vous’87 team and NHL All Stars team (1979 Challenge Cup).
- Alumni national teams.
