What skills level are the AI goalies and defensemen set at in EASHL 6s? Because if it's set to rookie/pro, this is what makes it feel like arcade game.
Give up breakaways? You're getting scored on. Give up the forehand backhand up close? You're getting scored on. They are much improved on cross creases and stopping shots I feel they shouldn't be stopping at such a high rate.
The AI is only meant to be serviceable in EASHL. Even if they are put at the highest difficulty they still won't get the job done against smart humans. So they will still get straightlined.

Losing every 1-on-1 from anyone coming from the far 100ft of the ice is not serviceable

I think this is more what I'm getting at with the AI defense and goalie. Serviceable as a description for AI defensemen couldn't be less accurate if everyone can go McDavid right through or around them without fail. I would also argue that is not a "smart human" who does that type of thing. Maybe the opposite? And with AI goalies, I get that they are likely getting scored on with a breakaway. That's fine. But shouldn't the goalie know forehand backhand is coming potentially the 2nd time, but for sure the 3rd or 4th time? This makes the gameplay as a whole feel 2D instead of 3D.
This to me is where there's a huge disconnect between what the Team calls authentic gameplay and what the fan base actually experiences.
