Community ManagerYou can only get banned for actually having an offensive or profane name. There has been a very high number of people using innocent words in an offensive manner so we've had to put some very strict limits on the profanity filter. This is why we can't have nice things :/
@EA_Aljo Got it. While that's understandable, I think there needs to be better feedback from EA when handing out suspensions/bans. Getting a suspension/ban with no feedback as to why or how a name violates the guidelines isn't productive. Especially for people who are legitimately not attempting to offend or troll others. If you have no reasonable way of knowing what the rules are, how are you supposed to follow them?
I only have second-hand experience with the process through teammates, but the whole thing seems arbitrary and not at all helpful. And all attempts at appealing punishment are met with crickets.

Normally, when an account is actioned for an offensive name, it's pretty obvious why. You can always submit a dispute to have Terms of Service review it again.

'Lemmy Kilmister' and 'Scrum Master' were both apparently actionable names. No explanation why or response to appeals.

Since I don't have their names, I can't look up the accounts, but even if I did have them, I couldn't give you any details about this as we can't discuss other player's accounts. The best I can advise is that they contact an advisor to see if they can find out why they didn't get a response. It's possible they did get one, but the email ended up being caught in a spam filter or somewhere besides their normal inbox. Hey I would like to know how to dispute this? I think I may be banned from changing my name in World of Chel but there is nothing in my ban history. I don’t think Ive ever made a name that was offensive but my name is stuck as Joe NHL. I would just like some answers
I may get banned for this comment … but it’s usually not obvious why it was banned. Why is Karl Childers offensive ?

Most likely because child is in the name.
So after human review this should have been caught. Childers is actually a common last name. EA is going to lose a lot of people if this stuff keeps up. Getting a little out of hand to be honest.
EA has some voice overs when you hit people that straight up sound like curses … I would say that is more offensive. At what point does it stop? Maybe people find some of the jersey icons offensive like
axes and “roosters”…

the filters make no sense and this snowflake game is turning alot of people away. Honestly rather have a drop down list of allowed names so we can focus on playing the game instead of getting banned
