Just got back on the game after receiving a 7 day ban for my name. Wondering how long I have to stay as Joe Nhl before I can actually change my name. However reading others issues I'm assuming it's a perma-ban.

I think he means he can't verify the names you claimed were used as they now appear as "Joe NHL" or similar.
While Lemmy Kilmister is a real name, I can see how an overzealous filter will ding you -- Could me seen as Lemme/Let me Kill Mister/a guy (Basically it doesn't take much for a ban since the crackdown started last year).
Scrum Master is fairly weak but I assume it has to do with "Scrum"
I see your point but just look at the movie "Meet The Fockers". A name of French origin that just wouldn't jive with the filter since it cannot distinguish context.
Part of the problem is other languages and slang - The auto part of the filter can sometimes block certain combinations (like the "rum" part of scrum could trigger alcohol protocols, as annoying as it can be). Sometimes they may not give full reason why something happened so people can't find workarounds, at least that is my guess.
I've seen some horrible names over the years and am always reporting. I think some people just change their names so much it can be hard to catch. I 100% agree the whole process could be made easier (it's a nightmare in other titles as well).
Honestly I don't know exactly how it works for NHL.
Using bots for overflow/high amount of reports for an individual in a short period of time makes sense but in theory, humans should be reviewing most general reports in NHL.
Could be the initial reviewer misunderstood and issued a ban too quick so then others couldn't follow up or maybe so many reports were filed against you it escalated its priority.
Community ManagerI know who that is. I was talking about the gamertags/PSN IDs for the players that were actioned for this.
While we may not catch everyone, there are bans that go out every day for offensive names. We also email someone when a report is submitted and an account was actioned. This way you know you're report made a difference.
If you want to solve the whole "offensive" player names, 1 easy solution, we have a list of names to choose from for a play by play names, give someone 1 shot to have whatever name they want. But whenever it gets reported, all they can choose from is the list of preset names. Don't allow them to make their own names a Second time.
Hey I would like to know how to dispute this? I think I may be banned from changing my name in World of Chel but there is nothing in my ban history. I don’t think Ive ever made a name that was offensive but my name is stuck as Joe NHL. I would just like some answers
