Bug or unchangeable rule when it comes to visors?

How come that when I create a player who is not wearing a visor, all off a sudden wears one during free skate and during games? I've made sure that I apply the changes at the "Edit a player"-screen and even saved my roster settings, but still he wears a visor. Is this some kind of unchangeable rule in NHL 14 since the league now have made visors mandatory?
Also is there any differance if you have the game for Xbox since I have it for PS3?

    Yes it's a rule. Is your player NEW to the NHL? If so he MUST wear a visor to play in the NHL. It is being 'grandfathered in'. Meaning if you were IN the NHL when it was instituted it is your choice to wear or nor wear a visor.... But from now on ALL new players entering the NHL MUST wear a visor.

    Well, your answer pretty much answers my question, but I must have missed the part were EA said they would do the same thing in-game as in real life... In my opinion (since this is a game) you should have an option to turn that rule off or simply remove the ability to choose "no visor" at the "Create a player"-section...

    Anyway, thanks for answering and I'll give you some XP 🙂
