Coaching and line chemistry in franchise mode?

My question is regarding the coaching and player preferences. I have logged extensive hours into coaching and line chemistry. But have yet to find a definitive Haha moment where it makes me say ok I get it. How does the coaches preference correlate to the green check yellow minus and red x and how does that correlate to +5 or -2. From what I found player type is involved in someway.  But my real question is this example

Coach line 1

Behind the net

Carry

Cycle

Balance

Balance

Line 1

Leftwing pwf      Center ply         Right wing Snp

Balance             Carry                  Balance

Shoot                   cycle                  cycle

Energy                  Balance             balance

Block                    Dont block        Block

In my current save file with this coach and linemates these 3 players are a +3 my question is why?

Because only 1 red or because there is 5green and good player types. Also on the power play where is the players info for how they fit

Thanks for any info anyone can share as I have looked all over the internet and found no info

  • Nobody got any insight I called Ea they instructed me to post here for answers. I knew and said at the time that it would never get a response. They (EA) make me feel as thought we are asking for the special sauce when it comes to any info on the chemistry system in this game. I just dont understand I love the game and feel it is really close to being great but why input a new feature and give no explanation on how it works. I'm here spending countless hours logging all this info but in the end it just seems random. And if that is the case just say so I can understand that. Hey we wanted to get it started in the game but there is no definitive system it's all random I could completely understand..

    Thanks,

I'm mainly an EASHL guy and only strongarm my way through Franchise to net myself a shiny trophy so all I can assume is each build's natural style must be taken into account.

PF's are there to protect the smaller guys and create lanes

Snipers only care about shooting - plays that involve conservation of energy and doing any sence of work themselves is beneath them.

Playmakers need only focus on getting the puck to snipers - they'll be more open to setting up good plays but again, they are unable to power through.

Remove shooting from the PF since they have lead hands and I guess stick with blocking and carry.

I'd personally swap PF into C position so that the Sniper will only focus on getting into the right spot for goals. PF should be strong enough to shrug off a hit on blue line and deck players in your D zone.

It could very well be random too, I surely don't know. You should be able to tweak settings in this mode so buffs/debuffs wouldn't make a difference too if it gets to be too much
