Create-a-Franchise

Are you kidding me right now, EA??

I was frustrated enough last night with the Franchise Mode bugs that many of us have been discussing over the weeks that I thought to myself "let's just go start up a team 32 and check out the how they've implemented the expansion draft".  I fire it up, and am immediately inundated with hundreds of customization options... you're telling me that you're going to spend all this time and effort on these customization options, yet neglect a mode-breaking bug like Progression?  Fine... I'm sure someone cares about the placement of the concession stand in their custom arena.

Ask yourself why you'd want to start up a 32nd team in NHL... the answer is "to go through the expansion draft" (and take the Cinderella team to the Stanley Cup).  In HUT, I can wear any jerseys I want and play in any arena I want, as long as I collect or go buy the right items from the auction house.  How is it, then, that instead of trying to re-create these jerseys, I can't just select one that's already been done and save myself some damn effort?  After all, I want to get to the expansion draft.

You provide pre-made logos from... the NHL.  WHY???  Why would you duplicate a logo from some other team already in the league?

You provide pre-made logos from the ECHL.  I mean... ok... so why not from all the other minor/junior/European leagues?

I don't really care that all this customization exists, but it's a god-awful waste of time, and a waste of effort on your part, since you're not dealing with the bugs that would actually give us a fun and playable mode.  How can you add in all of this and not still give us the option to just load some pre-made things and go?  Yes, I realize I just pointed out a couple of pre-made things... give us all of them, like you do in HUT.  I was all ready to have Rimouski join the NHL, re-align the divisions, and get to the draft... NOPE!  Scrapped the entire idea.  Why would I spend hours trying to recreate them, knowing that I'd be rolling them into a bugged-out mode that doesn't run right anyway?

Come on, man.
