Create Helmetless players
I hope that we get a patch soon for 22 that allows us to make helmetless players for offline mode. I make classic rosters and it SUCKS having to put a helmet on players that NEVER wore one like Bobb...

@T2HD See over a month later and they can't even get a simple answer. That is the problem with this team from top to bottom. Can't answer a damn question. Say Yes, No, or working on it. And if it can't be added for reasons grow a pair and say it. But that isn't the EA way.

Feedback on this has been passed along and as Forum Community Managers we have limitations on what information is available to us. We are not working on the game itself nor included within the development process. Based off what we are aware of at this moment, there are no plans for this feature to be implemented for NHL 22 unless otherwise news is announced we were not informed of. I don't think it's something they "can't" add, unless it's something the NHL wouldn't permit. I know some Madden players want to see that OG ambulance come back on the field and run over players like it did way back in the day. I highly doubt the NFL would allow that nowadays with concussions being an issue.

Like hows a game like Call of Duty or GTA allowed but Madden can't add an old ambulance because its promotes concussions?
Whats next they gna take out fighting and hitting from the NHL games? Lol
Not hating on anyone just doesn't make sense to me how this world operates sometimes?
Unfortunately in this WOKE world we live in people just can't makes things for fun without always having to check if its ok to have fun anymore. Lets keep this post alive so we can have it for NHL 23.
- @Atishksingh Sadly, this is the 3rd year in a row that I've suggested the helmetless option (along with vintage goalie masks). It would be much better if they'd just have said "no" so I didn't get my hopes up and/or waste my time posting annual requests. IMHO, they care more about the transactional additions that generate revenue for them post launch within Ultimate Team and CHEL. They add countless items to CHEL post initial launch and spend countless hours adding new gimmick packs to Ultimate Team. I'd love to hear an explanation why those investments of time and money couldn't be spent towards making the base game itself more appealing to the masses (who've continued to support EA by buying their game every year in spite of not giving us what we've asked for). A better game for the core is an investment that will generate revenue as well. I'm not sure why they don't see that. They might also counter that they spend countless hours updating jerseys, arena names etc. to improve the game. To that I say they should be doing that anyways and not treating it like it is some HUGE gift to the people who spent $90 on this game.
- @Atishksingh Also, it's EXTREMELY frustrating to see fans in the bleachers wearing Cheevers goalie masks with stitches when we can't have them on Cheevers himself within the game (or as an option within CAP). That's a cruel joke on us all.
- @T2HD Your 100% correct. If I was you if just keep asking until NHL 23 comes out. I'll bet it doesn't have helemtless players but until its releases all we can do is wait.
Ya it sucks about HUT as its ruined the Franchise for us non online users.
NHL 23 will be released on September or October. I'll wait to see what they have but as usual we'll probably be disappointed but all we can do is wait.
I believe that they will create 1 good NHL game in the PS5 life cycle. NHL 21 was the only good NHL I liked in the PS4 lifetime.
They seem.to make 1 good NHL game every 7 years or so and when the system is close to the end...NHL 14 on PS3, NHL 21 on PS4 so I guess NHL 28 will be the best on the PS5.
Only 5 more years to go bro before we MIGHT get the game we've been wanting lol I want all the things you guys have mentioned .
I also would like to see them do a bunch of different style Jason Voorhees goalie mask from like the 70s and early 80s that you can put on any goalie in the game please ;
- @jamiestang With Roster Sharing now a staple in the series I would bet for much more expanded creation suite in the coming years.
Itll create more interest and people with make Viral videos that'll create even more interest - @Atishksingh Any word on 23 having this feature?

One of the most requested features on this forum the past year. Would be a shame if it's not included in 23.
After spending countless hours creating a roster containing NHL22 Alumni teams and other historical teams (with created players who are forced to wear a helmet when they didn't in real life back in the day), I took some time off and revisited what was always my favorite hockey game. 2K Sports NHL2K8. The game came with a fantastic assortment of classic teams and the ability to create 5 more classic Stanley Cup teams (within each roster file). The players in the historical rosters don't have helmets where they shouldn't so it doesn't matter that you can't create helmetless players. They're already in the game WITHOUT helmets. So, we have Bobby Orr and Phil Esposito WITHOUT helmets. You just have to name them etc. I also spent countless hours improving upon an Operation Sports shared roster for last season (I have NHL2K22 now – I shared my rosters there as well). I'm working on the roster for my version of NHL2K23. After playing many hours again on 2K Sport's NHL2K8 with these rosters, I played a game last night on NHL22. NHL22 isn’t even close (control or gameplay wise). Because I'm 95% sure that you won't be able to upload the NHL22 roster into NHL23 and that once again they'll leave out the helmetless option (while they focus on CHEL and HUT), I'm not buying NHL23 even if they offer the helmetless option in CAP. I'm not recreating my roster from NHL22 (which I don't play anyways now). The community managers can't tell us what the developers are working on so these posts are a waste of time too. The devs sit behind the Oz Curtain and throw out scraps re: stuff that nobody asked for within the forums. I. GIVE. UP. Like I've said before, this series has become a virtual hockey card store with a crappy core game attached. They never even bothered to fix the "everyone in the stands are wearing Anaheim Ducks jerseys" error/bug. It was one of the first bugs reported. It should have never made it past initial testing/quality control. Especially for the $70 they're going to charge for the Series X version. Forget that. NHL2K23 lives!!
