I hope that we get a patch soon for 22 that allows us to make helmetless players for offline mode.I make classic rosters and it SUCKS having to put a helmet on players that NEVER wore one like Bobby Orr

This is one channel among the variety the team uses to help steer them in the direction they want to go with the game. No all suggestions may come to fruition. We'll do our jobs as Forum Community Managers to keep the devs filled in on what the community is chatting about so they're constantly in the know.

Completely agree. Also please let us add the vintage masks to our created goalies so we can create missing legends like Ken Dryden.

It is definitely frustrating because I can't imagine it would be a very complicated thing to implement. It requires no additional assets, and the option to have a helmetless player is already in the game in the World of CHEL game mode. The models for vintage goalies masks are also already in the game, so I fail to see what the issue is. This seems like something that could be done quickly and done in the latest patch.

Is there any plans to release a patch that will lets us create players without helmets for offline modes? Its 1 of the last absolutely needed features we would like.Thanks.

If there's one thing I want for Christmas it's this. Think of the amazing 70's rosters we could create for roster sharing..

Imagine the social media viral videos we could make.
Hell maybe even get big shows like Spittin Chicklets to play a game with our created versions of them or the Slap Shot characters.
The possibilities are endless

I'm hoping the helmetless option along with vintage goalie masks are added to the next patch. They still haven't fixed the fans wearing the wrong logos in the stands so I know there's another patch coming. Please, please EA do this! Otherwise you're gonna be on my list of grievances aired tonight at the Festivus celebration. I know you don't want that. 🙂

I was making an all-time roster based on my NHL All Stars universe in NHL 20, and forcing players to wear helmets is a serious problem, as the following teams played their seasons in a pre-helmet era:
1974-75 Los Angeles Kings
1945-46 Montreal Canadiens
1954-55 Toronto Maple Leafs
And here are teams from said universe that had players without helmets, but played during the helmet era:
1980-81 Boston Bruins
1985-86 Edmonton Oilers
Making these teams could benefit from being able to have players go helmetless.

There's a great original 6 season roster available on PS4 roster sharing. Sadly all the created guys have to wear helmets..

@Atishksingh Love that!! So awesome!! I hope it doesn't fall on deaf ears though. Happy New Year! Hoping 2022 brings us helmetless players and vintage goalie masks for NHL 22 (not NHL 23). They can do it!! I know they can!! They already have helmets being knocked off during fights so the helmetless capability is there for helmetless players.

@T2HD Would also be nice if we had the option to keep players on the ice after helmets gets knocked off from big hits.
I hate that new rule the NHL put in.
