Cross play

I am deeply disappointed with EA Sports’ implementation of cross-play in the NHL series. While EA marketed cross-play as a major feature to unite the player base, its restriction to specific modes like World of Chel and HUT—while completely excluding standard online head-to-head play (Online Versus)—is extremely frustrating.  

Standard Online Versus is the core mode for fans who simply want to pick real NHL teams and play a straightforward game against friends on other consoles. Leaving this feature out feels like a massive oversight and a half-baked execution. It breaks up friend groups across different platforms and severely limits the game's replay value for casual and traditional hockey fans alike. EA Sports needs to listen to its community and expand full, unrestricted cross-play across all online modes, including standard play.
