Does owning Nhl 21 on PS4 mean owning it on ps5?

If I buy nhl 21 on the ps4, will I be able to have on ps5 or I will need to buy it twice? (CM: Edited to update thread title to match thread topic)

    No. You just need it once as it will play on both PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Unless you want it for both PlayStation and Xbox. In that case, you would need to buy it twice.

Will there be a PlayStation 5 version of the game released or will I only get to play the PlayStation 4 version on the PlayStation 5? In other words will I have to wait until NHL 22 comes out for there to be a game that is made for the PlayStation 5?

There is no specific PS5 or Xbox Series X version for NHL 21. We don't have any details yet on what's coming for future games. When we do, an update will be made on our official channels. Thanks!
