I have a hard time believing that they would leave this problem unfixed for 22 (a very hard time), but the lack of acknowledgment combined with how many problems they had last year at launch plus a new game engine does make me pretty nervous.
Exactly. There’s not a chance I’m buying this game until it’s confirmed that’s fixed.

Between @Beauts90‘s experience and the people in this Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/EANHLfranchise/comments/q609zj/nhl22_prospect_development_issues/ it looks like the bug that made Franchise Mode unplayable was actually fixed. Great news!
It’s crazy to me that this isn’t something you guys would have mentioned in the deep dive, EA.
I’ll buy the game once it’s confirmed the jersey numbers bug for created teams is fixed in the next patch.

Looking through all the threads on the board it looks like I’m not the only one who desperately wants full player editing opened up mid-franchise mode. I know neither of you can confirm this is on the radar for a patch or a change in NHL 23, but can one of you please confirm that specific feedback has been relayed to the devs?
There are lots of good arguments for having it all over this board and not a single good one against having it.
Thanks!

The option for head customization is right there in franchise mode just grayed out, even if edit player took a few extra seconds to load in the hair list for everyone I'd be down for it (BAP let's you change your hair so why not everyone else) Really wish I could edit player type too but having everything else open like ability's and behavior I hope will help with balancing everything out.
I'm really loving this game the stick physics are such a major improvement coming over from NHL 20, just having that extra option to customize non face scanned players further would make roster sharing, drafting prospects n just this whole game feel so much more personal for everyone (maybe I want some of my players to grow their hair out, it is something possible in real life)- 4 years ago
Like I've said, I feel like EA got tired of streamers saying, Change Everyone to a PWF, SNP, and PLY to have max chem. Basically, when people figured out how to cheat the cut it.
But, I agree, they need to get rid of "secondary positions" and open up customization. I mean, come on a Center with a weakness of Faceoffs, ISN'T a Center, let me change it! A Power Forward with low physical skills but high shot power and accuracy is supposed to be a sniper.

I think this post got buried by the time you two were back on Monday after I put it up on Friday afternoon. Any chance you can take a look?

Hey!
We've absolutely passed along the primary thread and community's request to edit players attributes. Continue to drive this discussion with suggestions and reasons why it will add value to the Franchise crowd. Do that and we'll keep being your voice in their ears.- kyl_354 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Blueberry Thanks so much!
I think the simplest way to put it would be: it allows Franchise Players to fix just about any problem they have with the mode. (IE: last year’s development bug wouldn’t have been a game-breaker if we could fix it ourselves)
The downside is people could “cheat”, but if they’re going to cheat in an offline single-player mode, who cares? Maybe just make it so any attribute edits makes you ineligible for any/all trophies, if that’s the actual concern.
