I have the same problem, Rick Nash just dissapear...!! Not in any team, not on weiver, not on AHL, UFA, nothing! He is just gone! He is no longer in the stats of the league, and this happen to another guys of the GM too! He lost Alfredsson. These 2 player are not un the GM anymore, they just dissapear,..... What the **bleep** is this ??
And even if its the cap, the player is not supose to just dissâear from the league!! But its not a salary problem because in all of my trade, my cap was ok!
Heya everyone,
After investigating your reports further, the issue still appears to be that your team has gone above either the salary cap or the roster limit. If you are over the limit during a tick advance, the game will automatically attempt to resolve this violation, either by placing the player on waivers or by releasing them.
Now if the player is released, he will be going to Free Agency at the start of the next NHL season in the GM Connected league. Then they can be resigned, but they will not be shown on a roster until then.
We hope this clarifies the situation and you should able to confirm this once your GM Connected league reaches its next NHL season.

In the past, the CPU would automatically reject this trade if it violated cap, or roster size. Our guys have made straight across 1 for 1 deals, and players have gone missing, completely from the game. Don't even show up in player stats.

As Nils said, if you go over the cap and the players cannot go on waivers, the computer does not reject the trade for you in GMC. The players may be released and will show up as free agents the next season.
When this happens it seems like they are basically invisible and won't show up on any roster. They will come back but not until the next full season. Really the best way to avoid this is to stay under the cap and manage your team accordingly. The game really should alert you when this happens, but its avoidable at least.

Taylor disappeared in my Gm Connected league during the resigning phase after the the very first season. His contract was not up for review. POOF. gone. There was no trade at this time. Also, previously in the season Marian Hossa disappeared. No trade was made involving him but there may have been one involving his team.

Hey Nils
''the issue still appears to be that your team has gone above either the salary cap or the roster limit.''
Wrong : the issue is that players disappear from the game, even if its ''only'' for a season, they still count against the cap during that season. This is ridiculous, if the issue is that a team has gone over the salary cap, and the solution is to make a player disappear, AT THE VERY LEAST the player's salary should also be eliminated from the team.
This has now been a issue for two straight years, we are building our teams based on these players, and their salaries...they can't disappear ??? what kind of solution is that ??
''if the player is released, he will be going to Free Agency at the start of the next NHL season''
Well it's great, now maybe I can re-sign him for more money, and then I'll have both his salaries on my payroll...
Also the AI constantly re-doing my lines is really starting to piss me off, and why can't we set up our startegies before the game !? like do it once at the start of the season instead of 82 times.
Thanks for explaining what we already knew and not provinding any solution

Please learn about hockey and your own game before you tell us that nothing will be done. You say players are 1) going through waivers (which it is clear they are not since no team as them,) or 2) being released (which cannot be because in your game, player contracts cannot be bought out midseason nor can you outright release a player as salary cap issues are resolved by sending people to the minors so their salary doesn't count against you.)
Whether or not the teams are complient with the salary cap is not the issue. The issue is that the player CANNOT simply disappear from all rosters without it being a serious glitch that needs to be addressed. If the player went through waivers, that would be one thing. If players were being released, that would be understandable too, but the game, as programmed, does not allow that.
Even if we assume the teams are over the cap, the players should go somewhere that the game would ordinarily allow, not vanish. You don't understand the issue if you don't understand how this is unacceptable.
