Gold base or best card out at the time

When a special event card is out and you pull that card shouldn’t it be the special one insted of the gold base like it use to be years ago ? I just got nylander in a pack and he has the fantasy card out right now

    Event cards just get added into the mix unless they specify the card can only be obtained in certain packs iirc. It's just a simple business tactic to get you to spend a little extra for some sets/packs
