@Wicked_Devil You internet speeds aren’t relevant to how the game, or any game, plays online. Your proximity (ping) to a server, or in this case, your opponent is what’s important. Versus is a peer to peer (P2P) mode and it can be a very poor experience since it is dependent on both yours and your opponents connection.

Don't waste your time with WOC. The game freezes in the loading screen 99% of the time. The game is completely broken. Don't worry though, cash grab HUT will work just fine.
No, I only play versus with a friend. We both have good internet connections. I don't understand why there is so much lag and slowdown. It's not a little, it nearly unplayable. Today I tried playing with a wired controller and nothing changed. Clearly this is an EA server issue so why hasn't this been solved yet as I've read the complaints from users across many forums. It's beyond frustrating as online play is not fun and I keep losing as a result of the lag.

Online Versus games don't take place on our servers since it uses a peer to peer connection. This means either you or your friend are hosting the game. Onlince Versus games are more susceptible to lag since both you and your opponent will feel a bad connection as it is based on the quality of the connection of the host as well as the distance between both of you. So, if you and your friend live far apart, lag and disconnects are going to be higher.
- @EA_Aljo Is there another mode I can play the game with my friend? Why doesn't EA change how VS games are setup on the. backend if lag is a known problem?
