As one commentator sad the CPU has been easily stealing the puck along with the icing issue since NHL12. This should be correctable after all this time.

Without seeing any video of this, we can't tell if there are any issues. If you skate to close to opposing players, they can knock the puck loose and potentially pick it up. To avoid this from happening, stick handle to keep the puck out of reach or pass it. If you're constantly skating into players, chances are good you're going to lose the puck.

All the CPU has to do is just get relatively close to me, and bang it takes it off my stick. I don't know how to send you a video, but just try playing a game in NHL22 to see for your self. Please try the same thing for icing. Very frustrating for sure.

The CPU does not stick penalties and has no risk of tripping you no matter what you set any of the sliders to.
It simply does not play the way you do.

You can upload a video to YouTube and provide a link to it in your post. It sounds like you're skating into traffic or letting them get too close. They can knock the puck loose with incidental contact and pick it up. Again, you can avoid this by stickhandling or passing the puck.
This is correct for HUT. This change was made a couple of years ago to promote taking control of your defenders.
- Rigu74 years agoSeasoned Hotshot@EA_Aljo Interesting, Aljo. Wonder if that's linked to the demise of stick penalties / charging / boarding in offline season and franchise?
Whilst stick penalties do occur in NHL 21, you need to fire up the sliders to maximum, but now the CPU opponent in 22 just simply doesn't take penalties at all. Wonder if the behavior of CPU teammates and CPU opponents has been muddled resulting in an experience-killing bug?
