How to pull goalie without using pause

I've seen it done against me but I haven't been able to figure it out.  I'm using a PS3.  Thanks.

    think it's L2 and select at the same time but I didn't get a message on my screen that my goalie was pulled so had no idea it worked, needless to say, opponent scored an open net goal first time I try it lol
