HUT Contract Lenghts???

Can anyone please explain how the contracts work?

I think if I see a number on the player in my rooster that is the number of games he can play unless he gets injured?

I though contracts in NHL are for YEARS not GAMES PLAYED? Little confused!

If it is days then I can only play so many games with these players before I need to purchase contracts that extend DAYS only not YEARS or full season play?

If so why go by game by game or days? This is not how NHL or any real hockey is played, unless I missed something?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    Hello Endless,

You are correct, contract length in HUT is the number of games a player can play. It can be extended by "consuming" a contract card which has the extension lengths organized by the level of the card (ie. Bronze, Silver, Gold). When injuries occur, you will need to keep the player on your active roster although they obviously will not be in your lineup. The injury will also be a certain number of games and will use up contract length games.

The contract system is determined by number of games rather than a time frame, I would assume to make the game more appealing to casual players. Being able to sign your HUT players to a year contract would make the entire feature redundant as many people will be playing NHL 15 by the time those contracts would expire. But by contracting players for a certain time period, for example a week, casual players would find the game much less appealing as they would need to go through and resign their HUT players every time they wanted to play. Therefore I believe this is why EA opted for the number of games option.

Hum, well for the purpose of trading and buying pucks this is most likely good idea for EA, but for any player that just wants to play the game and play it all year up until the new game comes out, it is a nuisance.  Time consuming as with many features of the game I am noticing!  That is unless you like to come home and work on your game instead of just being able to play on it and have fun stress free.

You need to take your stupid coins and go buy a new pack of cards so you can swap him out or use a contract extension card, I just figured it out, but you know what people lag on ps4 and I'm **bleep** done with this mode and this game. What were they thinking of taking out the team play character upgrades and **bleep**, this game is bad and the only reason I was on HUT was because I was sick of all the other modes and all the other kid **bleep** cheating and lagging it out, or in team play the D skates ahead of everyone else and goes offside, I mean what the **bleep** is wrong with people today? This generation sucks and Next gen consoles are a waste of money.
