The game is completely unplayable during the day. I am getting severe button delay everyday from 11am to about 10pm. After that the game absolutely flies and I have zero delay. I have tried everything. It's clearly an issue with the servers. Yes I am directly connected with ethernet Yes I've reset my modemYes my monitor has low ms for gamingI'm on Ps5 fyiI've heard other players are having the same issue. With Xbox and Ps5. Doesn't matter. My ping shows 12ms in every game with zero packet loss. Yet it plays like it's at 150 - 200 ms. I have a 1.5 gbps connection newly installed Fibre line directly to my house. It's not my connection. My opponents are not getting this delay they are so far ahead of me, poke checking and hitting me before I can even pass the puck (0.5 second delay per input).I had a few games against top twitch streamers including nosleeves and he had no lag / delay against me. I ended up quitting a few minutes into the game. He told me to reset my modem... It's too bad because I actually like this year's game when I have zero delay. The game speed is so fast after 11pm.. That doesn't even make sense. If the modem was not capable, then why would it be a non issue at night time? Why is versus mode fine? Peer to peer connection is great. And I absolutely fly on the servers at night. I literally had nothing connected to it except the Ps5 ethernet cable to test and still delayed during the day. Really frustrating. I'll try to call them and see what I can do.

So why is it no other video game gives me this issue during peak time or anytime? Why am I able to play versus mode online (peer to peer) inside nhl with no problems? It's clearly the server I'm being connected too in hut.

I have had the same problems for 5-6 years. During this time i have tried at least 5 different ISP (Fibre). I have tried at least as many different routers (High end). I have tried every setting and configuration imaginary. Wifi, Cables. Different monitors. I have had the problem on XBox 360, Xbox One, XBox Series S, PS3, PS4. I have no problem with my internet connection whatsoever. No packet loss, no jitter, very responsive stable connection. I constantly have 5-6ms ping to the gameserver without any spikes.The only thing that has somewhat eliminated the problem has been to make my connection worse by either playing over 4G connection, QOS Bandwith throttling or playing over VPN but all of these options have introduced real lag instead which is not preferable. I can add that i´m a software developer and have a good understanding of networking and have captured the tcp/udp traffic during gameplay and analyzed in Wireshark to try to find any signs of delayed/lost packages but cannot find any such signs.Since the problem is worst during peak hours the only conclusion i can come up with is that there is Lag compensation involved to balance the connections for the players and when there is a heavy load on the servers the lag compensation does not work as intended.I can also add that i am convinced there is also rubberbanding, dynamic slider adjustment, and handicap involved to mimic real hockey games but those mechanisms go crazy when Fatman lag is involved, it really makes the game unplayable.

Thanks for your post. I wish ea would look into this instead of blaming everyone's connections. I was a professional video gamer for fifa for 10 years and know a thing or two about this. Lol. I think alot of players don't even realize they are having this issue tbh. The game is so fun this year when I can actually play when there's no delay. I was thinking of trying to compete for fun this year in gwc but if it's going to be like this then I'll never be able to compete against any decent player. Especially when it's one sided delay. I've asked my opponents if they had delay and even watched 2 of my games on streams when my opponent was steaming it. They told me they had no lag /delay. I can't even make quick turns with McDavid (xfactor+wheels) that's when u know somethings wrong. Oh unless I play at night and he's a cheat code lol.

What region are you in? Also, have you tried all the troubleshooting steps here? If there is high traffic on your network during the day, that's not something we really have control over. Do you live in a really congested area by chance? Are there others on your network streaming or downloading while you play?

I've tried everything. I just reset everything connected to my modem. Changed wireless password so nothing could connect. It still gave me delay. There's no one here connected to my modem.
I live in southern Ontario. I'm not in a congested area. I'm using a Bell Fibre optics cable directly to my house. I'm not sharing connections with anyone. 1.5 gbps speed. I still show 12 ms in the game. It doesn't make sense. I don't get delay or lag in anything else. Just NHL

@WiZaKoR I live in Northern Ireland, have 500 Mbps broadband, asus u88 router, ps5 in DMZ, ping under 30 and in day same as you wrote up. But it is nothing new. It was always like that for me.

Also if I play versus mode (peer to peer) it's great as long as my opponent has a decent connection. Even at 60 ms it plays better and faster than 12 ms in HUT.. Explain that?

Have you tried alternate DNS settings? If not, follow the steps here. If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

It sucks!!! Then at night time it flies! When ea had those issues with desync I was playing at 3pm and it was flying because no one was playing!! It's the servers! They are overloaded and can't handle it. You guys need more servers or something. This is crazy it's 2021. It shouldn't be an issue.

I had no delay or lag when those desync issues were happening at peak time.. 3pm ish... Explain that? Clearly not my connection. No one was playing and the servers were flying for me like it's supposed to. The next day when it was patched I was back to severe delay during the day again. I can't even play right now. It's so bad

The servers haven't been overloaded, but we're most definitely monitoring their status.

Does your router have a QoS (Quality of Service) setting? If so, is it enabled?

No, there's no option to turn it off or on. I'm using the bell home hub 3000. No router with it. It's all built in.
