Hi there, @KingPyrrhus981
Online Versus games are played over a peer to peer connection. This means that either you or your opponent are the host. You're not actually on our servers. So, if one of you has a bad connection, both will feel it. Something you can try is using alternate DNS settings with the steps here. If you don't see a difference, try the Google DNS servers. Those are: Primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - Secondary alt number 8.8.4.4. Let me know how it goes. Thanks!
Aljo,
I will definitely go ahead and try this later tonight. Thanks for that info.
Also, can you let me know what ports I need to have opened? I found info on another website and want to confirm I have the correct ports.
I was very aware of the fact that online versus are peer to peer. I honestly have had an issue with connections since NHL21 and got into the habit of watching the connection between myself and my opponent immediately. If the ping was in the red or bouncing all over the place, I'd quit before puck drop since it wouldn't count. Every once in a while the connection would later go bad in NHL21, but that was pretty rare.
In this case, I am not convinced that it is the connection, even if I will do what you said regarding improving the connection. As I stated in my original post, it does this lag/speed up stuff even with the connection/ping stable in the green. Could it be a sync issue with the game itself instead of the connection per say? Can you please request that the programming team investigate this? It usually doesn't start until the 2nd or 3rd period, and it occurs at an unacceptable frequency.
I will reply with the results of the connection fixes you told me to do tonight or tomorrow.
Thanks,

We can't really investigate peer to peer connections since you're not playing on our servers. Do you have UPnP enabled on your router? Also, does your router support QoS (Quality of Service)? If so, make sure that is enabled. While in those settings, check your NAT. This should either be open or moderate. NAT normally just affects whether or not you connect to someone, but it would be good to check. The problem with peer to peer connections is that you're more likely to get a worse connection due to not being on a dedicated server. If you or your opponent are having an unstable connection, it's going to be felt between both of you. If your opponent is on wireless, for example, you're going to feel it as well. Distance makes a difference too. Someone farther away is going to have a worse connection than someone closer.

Aljo,
I will check all of those to rule out the connection being an issue.
But again, I don't think the issue is the connection. It occurs when my ping (and I do check this) in the network connection chart (in game) is a stable, flat, green line, indicating a perfect connection.
I am not the only one having this issue, I have seen it posted online in other forums. Please have the programmers look into this matter.
I will report back with the results of all the connection changes you suggested later.
Thanks,

Do you play any of the dedicated server modes or do you only play Online Versus? If you play HUT or WoC, do you have this issue in those modes as well?
