11 years agoI love this game
Hi Rammer.
I think I am one of the few gamers on this forum who actually understands why NHL 15 was released as a, for lack of better words, "stripped down" version. You guys wanted the game to be released the same time it is every year and it was hard to add all the current features with the old ones across a new gen of consoles. I totally get it and know that everything will be there eventually. I love the game. It looks, sounds, feels and even smells and tastes fantastic.
You guys did such a great job revitalizing the franchise this year. I can only imagine what you have on tap for next year. Of course I have a wishlist. I know you get these all the times, but I never have any way of telling if my e-mails to EA Sports actually get read or not. I saw your post on the forum and was freaking out because you took the time to talk amongst the people, that shows a lot of courage and integrity.
So here's my wishlist. It's actually a lot of old features hoping to return from the days of Sega Genesis (yeah I'm that old)
- All Star skills competition (this was a feature in NHL 96 or 97 I think. How amazing and simple would it be to bring this feature back? It would also open up a whole new mode to play online, which would be pretty cool)
- NHL awards presentation (I remember back in the Genesis days when at the end of the season mode the awards were presented with some little animations. This would again be kinda cool to see the player actually hold up there trophy when they are announced as a winner.)
- New Leagues (This one might be a longshot, but I would love to see the ECHL, USHL, CHL (Champions Hockey League, which would be easy since 75% of the teams are already there), EIHL (British League), and EBEL (Austrian League). I know the KHL is out because of the NHL's feud with them so I figured these leagues would be easy to get the rights to and more realistic to compliment the existing leagues. How cool would it be to play the CHL Prospects team against The USNTDP team?)
- Downloadable Legend Teams (I had such high hopes when you guys made the 100th Anniversary Montreal Canadiens team and the introduced your Legends teams, but felt a little sad when some players were taken out to add new ones in. I know this had to do with limitations of the last gen systems, but now with nex gen gaming and online DLC this can unlock so many possibilities. Offering up All Time Original 6 teams for a price through the Playstation or XBox online stores can be an awesome addition and huge revenue generator for EA. Even doing period teams like the '84 Oilers, '89 Flames, '93 Maple Leafs, '92 Penguins, '80 Islanders or teams like that. Maybe even do polls to see what teams the fans think are the best. You can charge like $4.99 per team or have a whole bundle of 10 or 12 teams for $49.99. It's a huge opportunity, and something that longtime NHL gamers and hockey fans in general will go nuts over.)
- More Uniforms (Another cool feature would be releasing more classic jerseys. I know this might be an issue with Reebok being the exclusive jersey manufacturer for the NHL but there are older CCM designs in the game. Why can't there be more? I love the vintage jerseys and playing in them makes the game even more fun. Why can't we have the Kings Burger King jersey, the Islanders Captain Highliner jersey, and Tampa Bay's Storm jersey?
These would be some minor/major tweeks to the overall experience of the game. I wouldn't even venture to tell you how to improve the actual gameplay. I am not a game programmer by any stretch. I just want to give some input on what I have been missing from the franchise. Just wanna say that I love this game, I love this franchise and will always be loyal to your brand. Keep up the great work. And thanks for taking the time to listen to the people.
