Injuries & A Suggestion

Noticing my team is getting a lot more injuries while simming, more than I would usually in previous year games. I haven't been able to locate a setting to adjust this, frequency of injuries while simming, I believe there was an option for CPU or Human injuries, and I turned both down significantly but still the same amount of injuries, often at least 1 or 2 players out, which may be a little more realistic but we should be able to adjust that.

Anyways to an actual suggestion, we should be able to hire a trainer to our coaching staff, each trainer should have attributes that affect the frequency of injuries, the type of injury, and the length players are out. I suggested this in 2019, but maybe it will be seen here.

Please tell me your thoughts on this idea?

  • This is a cool idea, I would personally rather just have 2 injury settings for severity and frequency.

My reasons for this are some players just aren't as durable as others and with the current coaching system we have now I have a feeling the trainer would be a bit of a mess as well.

I’d just love if a player gets injured on a Monday, and is expected to get better before the next game on the following Wednesday, if I wouldn’t have to replace him in my lineup for the off-day I’m simulating.

  • You have to go into Game Play Sliders, and scroll to the bottom. You can turn it down to 20 to 25 and it won't suck.

I like the trainer idea, its been suggested a lot, but EA hasn't added it yet. They also need to rework coaches. I mean, its almost as if Associate and Assistant coaches are pointless. I know people say its helps with Power Play and PK, but I fired mine for a couple years and just had a goalie coach and a head coach and I played just as well.

@IrishOwl this is correct. with the slider around 20-25 I normally get a handful of minor injuries in both NHL and AHL per year which I like since its realistic. Occasionally I will get one major injury per year which keeps guys out 1 month or so. Just sucks when they tend to happen in bunches. I keep 7 D on the NHL roster normally and as the trade deadline was approaching I was planning to move on from some older Dmen with expiring contracts... then I had 3 Dmen go down. Ended up bringing up 2 guys and trading for a low cost veteran on a 1 year deal just to keep me afloat. I love the realism though

I completely agree! I love when that stuff happens (and hate it at the same time), my issue is with 50% on the sliders, I get a month long injury every month AND I got two career ending injuries - one on a 22 year old Medium Franchise. It was so angry.... I had him signed for a 8 year 9 million dollar contract and he kept recovering only to get injured again.... It was so bad.
