Invite a friend to WoC Club: "player never played NHL 21"

I am trying to add a friend to our World Of Chel Club, but when I enter his nametag in the "invite to my Club" option, it says that he "never played NHL21". We both play on Xbox One. We played together successfully through personnalized invites instead (i.e. in Threes Eliminator lobby) and everything worked fine. 

When he searches for our club it also doesn't appear. He also made all the available game updates. My club settings are at Public, and we made sure to be on the same server region (America North-East). I was able to invite other friends before (we are 3 in the club at the moment). Therefore, I don't know what to do anymore to make him join the club...

Does anyone had a similar problem before?

    No he couldn't either. But I did figure out. I was spelling his name wrong!!! Duh!

    But on a side note any body having issues with ea play app not showing game titles!?!

    Contacted ea and they have some BS statememt that it's the ps4.

    Hello, @jcgau27.

    This is really interesting. It's not an issue I've heard of before. Is it possible for him to create a club and invite you to it? Just as a test.

    We finally found out the problem (or so we think). 

    We manage to make him join the club by removing the # symbol from his gamertag in the invite search. 

    Hope this can help other players!

    I'm having the same issue with a friend but he does not have a hashtag in is name?

    I'm glad you figured it out. As far as game titles not being shown, this isn't an issue I'm currently aware of. If you're having trouble finding a particular title, let us know and we'll help out.

    Hey Everyone,

    This is not solved for me.. I bought the game a week ago, along with my friends and I'm having the same exact issues.

    I have done the following:

    Checked their gamertag and EXACT spelling

    Nothing is spelled wrong or missing.. It just states "They have not played NHL21" , which obviously is incorrect considering we play drop-ins all the time.

    Any other updates from anyone?

    I'm not seeing any other reports of this. Are you sure you're not mistaking a 1 for an I or a zero for an O? What if they send a join request to your club? Does it show up then?

    I'm absolutely positive. I've discussed it with them and even did it while on a zoom call.

    We have not gone through the process of them looking up the club yet. Once I have that answer, I can follow up.

    Either way, there's an issue. There shouldn't be an error messaging when sending an invite to an existing xbox NHL21 gamertag.
