During the gameplay on offline modes the player movement feels a bit slow and laggy which look like it’s missing some fps or something like that.
I did find this when playing offline HUT and offline Play now matches, but then on offline Threes it worked like it should, the gameplay was smooth and you can 100% sure see the difference.

If you're experiencing lag in NHL 22 as well as 2I22 and Mortal Kombat, chances are good there's an issue with your connection or ISP. We can go through some troubleshooting. Are you playing on a wired or wireless connection? Also, I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem, router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem and router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!
Aaaaaand... ONE YEAR later, nothing has improved.
It's the same on Xbox Series X for me. Offline gameplay lag.
