Exactly. I have received bonus/reward packs for participating in the HUT Season Opener.
When opening a bonus/reward pack the contents are worth zero coins. So when you open a pack containing a 1000 coin bonus card you are forced to sell it for zero coins.
Also, the first two packs fills your consumables pile with contracts, training, and injury cards forcing you to sell all the remaining consumables for zero pucks. I have several packs I will not open until I use up a bunch of consumables to make room.
And, when you open a player which you already have (traded for or purchased through a pack at the store) you cannot switch them out. Meaning you must sell the new card for zero coins. I paid 6000 coins for Kari Lehtonen then got him in a bonus pack and had to sell it for zero coins because I could switch him out and auction the one I paid for.
Sorry EA Sports but this new system is not very well thought out. I preferred NHL 14 system of earning pucks as a collection bonus. At least you could use the pucks toward packs or players via auction.
I hope all the work put into the next gen console is paying off because you seem to be turning a lot of loyal xbox360 gamers by neglecting to get NHL 15 right this year.
