NHL 18 franchise mode - end of season crash

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I have just completed my first season with a 32nd NHL team. My NHL team missed the playoffs but my AHL team did not. Although the AHL team's upcoming playoff games appear on the calendar, the main pane on the franchise mode home screen still invites me to sim to the draft. No matter whether I advance a day or hit "sim", the game announces the Winnipeg Jets are both NHL and AHL champions (which doesn't make sense), then crashes.
What happens when the bug occurs? Blue screen of death. Error code CE-34878-0. I am returned to the PlayStation home screen and can reboot the game and return to the day before the crash, but there's no way around the error. Then I get cranky because I have invested a lot of time and effort and emotion in my franchise, have tanked hard to get a good draft pick, and may never see the fruit of my labour.
What do you expect to see? The fruit of my labour. Either I should be able to participate in the AHL playoffs or sim to the NHL draft.
