Honestly, there are a ton of things that I would add/change in the mode and I also have a set of "rules" I use to make it more enjoyable.
This year it has been difficult to get into the mode as there of have been quite a few game breaking bugs (most of which will hopefully be fixed this week in the patch) and I personally dislike how unrealistic the cpu GM's control their teams. Thats kind of been the dealbreaker this year for me.
All in all though, it has been where I've spent most of my time over the years when playing NHL and if you don't really care about realism I would recommend giving it a go if some bugs are sorted out this week. I personally think it's a much more in depth mode than Be a Pro is.
Also, this isn't something I enjoy doing, but there are a lot of you tube videos of guys playing through the mode that might give you a better idea of what it's like.
the last ea nhl game i got was 19 because i only recently got ps4 over the summer and it was a gift but from what i can tell so far the franchise mode in nhl 21 is like how be a pro mode is in nhl 19 kinda bland so far...see i am usually a franchise mode player but with the improvements to be a pro i am enjoying it alot more...due to the ability to buy stuff like cars and homes and bikes and all kinds of other stuff...in the game its called perks....if you go down the list in be a pro you will see it and how much you have made so far during the season
